SteriGard™ Single-Use Aseptic Sampling Probe
Simplify Aseptic Sampling. Modernize Your Sampling Workflow.
Patent Pending
Introducing the SteriGard™ Single-Use Aseptic Sampling Probe, a fast, sterile alternative to traditional steam-sterilized sampling valves. Designed for stainless steel bioreactors and process vessels, SteriGard installs into a standard 25 mm Ingold or Safety Port and lets you pull a clean, representative sample by simply connecting a syringe and drawing — no prep, no water-for-injection flushing, and no cleaning validation required.
Pre-sterilized, sealed, and ready to use out of the package, SteriGard removes the risk of cross-contamination, eliminates recurring cleaning costs, and supports safe, single-operator sampling — even after hours. It’s an ideal fit for facilities looking to modernize manual sampling workflows without sacrificing sterility or speed.

Description
Upstream scientists working with stainless steel systems have long relied on traditional sterile sampling valves, which require steam sterilization, complex prep, and safety precautions around steam exposure. Because of Flownamics’ expertise in bioprocess sampling, the new SteriGard™ Single-Use Aseptic Sampling Probe offers a simpler path forward: connect a syringe and draw.
SteriGard collects a clean, representative sample in a matter of minutes — simply connect a syringe, purge the hold-up volume, and draw your sample. While traditional sterile sampling valves remain common in bioprocessing, evolving production needs demand faster, safer, and more flexible solutions. SteriGard delivers a sterile, low-risk alternative with major advantages in speed, ease of use, and operational efficiency.
Coming soon: Expanded manifold options! In the meantime, we’re always ready to design custom tubing and manifold configurations to fit your unique SteriGard setup.

- Quick Setup and Disposal: Ready-to-use out of the package; install and remove in minutes without the need for special training or sanitization.
- Broad Compatibility: Fits standard 25 mm Ingold or Safety Ports, Sanitary Ports; no need for permanent valve installation or custom fittings.
- Minimal Downtime: No prep, flushing, or line conditioning required; swapping probes between batches is fast and easy.
- Cost Efficient: Eliminates recurring cleaning costs.
- Improves Safety: Avoid burns and steam exposure — steam sterilization steps eliminated; supports single-operator sampling and improves after-hours flexibility.
- Pre-Sterilized and Sealed: Gamma-irradiated with integrated check valves throughout the fluid path to ensure directional flow and sterility.
- Reduce Time/Labor and Production Costs: Removes the need for sample probe prep, water for injection (WFI), chemicals and downtime, establishing a reduction in time and costs in production suites or high-throughput facilities.
- Reduces Operator Error: Streamlined process minimizes variability and the opportunity for mistakes between users.
- Custom tubing and manifold configurations are available to fit your unique SteriGard setup.
- Compatible with automated sampling systems, including the Flownamics Seg-Flow®.
- Coming Soon: Expanded manifold options!
Operation
- The SteriGard probe is inserted into the reactor port prior to the SIP cycle.
- After sterilization, a luer-lock syringe connects to a plunger-activated check valve for easy, aseptic sampling.
- Hold-up volume is minimized to ensure low product loss and disposal is as easy as removal.
